NATURAL LANDSCAPE
Kingston is located in the province of Ontario. It is in the St. Lawrence Lowlands physio graphic region as shown by this map from YellowMaps (Maps, Y. 2015).
Kingston has an amazing landscape to build a city on, with features such as:
1. Lake Ontario for a beautiful view from the lake shore.
2. St.Lawrence River for easy transport in and out of Canada.
3. Little Cataraqui Creek, which is now a reservoir as it has been dammed off.
4. The Rideau Canal, A canal make in 1832 connects Ottawa and Kingston, and in the winter becomes a pathway made of ice from Ottawa to Kingston.
(Web, W. 2015)
Although it seems great there are some challenges that Kingston faces being in the location it is. Those being lots of snow during the winter, extreme cold, and freezing of Lake Ontario!
